Honduras and the Bay Islands

After our time in the Cayman Islands, it was time to head further west to a new country. We had a relaxing downwind passage from Grand Cayman to Guanaja, the most easterly of the Bay Islands of Honduras.

The conditions were perfect for Scout, and we were very happy to see a 20 ton expedition boat making 7 knots in only 11 knots of wind!

Once we were settled at anchor, we went ashore for a hike. The view back to Scout was all greens and blues.

On Roatán we got up close and personal with some of the local wildlife, including a rescued three-toed sloth and a scarlet macaw.

Not every stop had a dock, though. On one beach we tied Scoot, our dinghy, to the nearest coconut tree instead.

No dock? No problem.

All too soon it was time for our farewell sundowners. Next stop, Belize!
