Bocas del Toro

After our time in the San Blas islands, we headed west along the coast of Panama to Bocas del Toro. It was a gentle beam reach most of the way.

Once we arrived, local Ngäbe guide Manuel took us into the Bocas del Toro rainforest, and showed us how it’s done here.

We watched a beautiful moonset from our anchorage at Monkey Island.

We also found some serenity at Cayo Gallego.

The wonderful Monkey Island also had a resident Geoffroy’s tamarin, who was just chilling with us.

We also spotted these umbrellas, all in the colours of the Panamanian flag.

Our time in Bocas also included Thanksgiving. What was I grateful for? Many things, such as our adventures, but also a recent and very successful sloth-spotting trip!

We also explored the surfy north coast of Isla Bastimentos, with its atmospheric rainforest and deserted beaches - as far as one can run!

Then it was time to head back east towards the Panama Canal. It was a sporty sail, but the dolphins were loving it.
